It’s exciting to see droves of people replacing dairy milk with plant based milk and taking charge of their health. It is most definitely a step in the right direction, as the benefits of eating a plant based diet are staggeringly beneficial for the health and well-being of our minds, bodies and spirits.
However, we still need to be vigilant about what we put into our bodies and quite frankly, most nut milks are made of majority water, sweetener and thickener, like carrageenan, a possible human carcinogen. They hardly contain any nuts or the health benefits that come with consuming nuts.
We are all born with an undeniable sixth sense – a sense beyond the basic five senses of sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing. This sixth sense is our psychic sense, our inner knowing, our connection to infinite intelligence, also known as intuition.
Intuition is challenging to define, despite the huge role it plays in our everyday lives. Steve Jobs claimed it to be “more powerful than intellect.” But however we put it into words, we all intuitively know just what it is.
What is intuition?
“I define intuition as the subtle knowing without ever having any idea why you know it,” says Sophy Burnham, bestselling author of The Art of Intuition. “It’s different from thinking, it’s different from logic or analysis … It’s a knowing without knowing.”
Psychic and spiritual energy is fragile. It is shy. Spiritual energy is like a little child waiting to be attended and loved.
So often, we are bombarded with unimportant information through television and social media, that we forget to become informed of ourselves. When we experience this detachment from the loving self, we lose sight of the things that need the most attention in our lives. We revert to Facebook instead of focusing on self-expansion, and we read into non-events displayed on the news before we read into our own spiritual needs.
What is chaga you ask? Let me sum it up for you. Chaga, aka “king of the medicinal mushrooms,” is the single most powerful healing herb in the world, according to David Wolfe, and has the remarkable ability to:
Fight cancer and detoxify radioactive and chemotherapeutic agents
Create super-immunity against viruses while fighting allergies and asthma
Balance blood-sugar levels, reduce systemic inflammation, heal digestive ailments, such as candida and help the liver purify itself
Nourish the hair, skin and eyes
Help you achieve vibrant health and radiant beauty
I discovered chaga not too long ago and now I use it daily as a tea, in my skin care products (as it is contains melanin and fights melanoma), and in many food recipes.
Superfood Chaga Fudge is one of my favorites, as it promotes excellent health and longevity, boosts my immune system and energy level, and provides clarity of mind.
Our psychic and mental awareness can be negatively affected by some of the most prevalent products in most supermarkets today. The psychic energy we have is a fragile, gentle thing that needs care and healthy treatment just like the rest of our bodies. With this is mind, it is important to remember that things like refined sugars toxify our whole body system, making it less able to fight off infection and illness. These processed sugars will do the same thing to our psyche, creating blockages in the psychic energy in our bodies. The biggest culprit in the use of these sugars is soda.
Soda is found all over: in supermarkets, gatherings, and in our homes. While it may be an easy solution to a parched tongue, soda affects our bodies in awful ways. A single can of soda usually packs a whopping 40 grams of sugar. This sugar has no nutritional value and doesn’t do our bodies well.
How bad can soda really be?
Doctors have come to the conclusion that we as people only need around 35 grams of sugar per day. When we eat more than what is recommended, we increase our risk for a whole medley of complications. The risk for cardiovascular disease, obesity, and diabetes are substantially increased when your sugar intake surpasses the doctor’s orders.
Just one can of cola contains 33 grams of sugar! With just one drink we are at our daily maximum. To think that we would ever drink more than one is outrageous, but some people drink between two and three times this much soda EVERYDAY.
In some sodas, there are chemicals like phosphoric acid and caramel color floating around. Phosphoric acid, which is found in most colas, has been shown to increase the risk for osteoporosis. Caramel color is derived from ammonia and is a known carcinogen.
Clearly there is something wrong when we ignore the facts and drink this stuff anyway. Now, before I begin lamenting on even more problems with our soda habit, I want to offer you the honest-to-goodness better alternative: kombucha!
It fizzes and pops, and it tastes great! Kombucha is a safe alternative to soda, and even comes with some added health benefits. Kombucha is packed with healthy B vitamins that keep you energized while you’re hanging out with family. Instead of the crash that is inevitable with caffeine, B vitamins sustain a healthy and balanced energy that sticks around for most of the day.
Kombucha also has tons of probiotics that help you digest that delicious food you’re chowing down on. Probiotics are little organisms that live in our intestines. They keep our bodies in check and make sure we absorb all the nutrients we need from the food we eat.
You can flavor kombucha to your personal tastes, as well. The kids will love picking out their favorite flavors out at the store, but I would bet they’d love making it at home with their own flavors even more. Adults can relish in the flavor choices too, with the cocktail mixers found here.
And it’s carbonated! Kombucha is fermented tea, and the fermentation process causes the tea to become naturally carbonated and fizzy.
Brew Your Own Kombucha for Pennies per Gallon
We should all make a commitment to stop shopping the soda aisle. Instead, we should opt for the healthier options available to us. Kombucha is such a great alternative because it tastes great AND is a health drink. Brewing your own at home is surprisingly easy and affordable too!
I recently watched a documentary entitled, Statin Nation. It’s an eye-opener about the relationship between cholesterol and heart disease. We’ve all been taught that low cholesterol is good for our hearts and that high cholesterol causes heart disease and heart attacks, right?
According to this documentary, these statements are nowhere near the truth. In fact, studies show that low cholesterol actually shortens people’s life spans and that statins block not only cholesterol, but necessary compounds that strengthen our heart muscles, like COQ10… causing a whole new host of problems, such as cancer.
I won’t go into the scientific details or repeat the studies here; but I urge you to watch the film for yourself. The film’s bottom line is that statins, multi-billion dollar producing drugs, are much more harmful to the human body than beneficial. The only people who stand to benefit greatly from statins are company shareholders.
I am forever grateful for being so plugged into my intuition at an early age. I have forever been guided away from medications and allopathic medicine. When I was 17 years old, I went on birth control pills, like a sexually responsible young woman is taught, only to throw them away after 3 weeks. I knew I was altering my perfect biological chemistry and my body felt so “off” as a result. I knew if I continued to take them, something horrid would result in my body in the long term. I felt it. I knew it then and have never looked back.
Since then, in my 49 years, I’ve never taken prescription medication and I rarely take over-the-counter drugs, except when in heavy pain, like naproxen. My philosophy and way of life reflects the wise words of Hippocrates, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” My diet is a plant-based one. Not only am I vibrantly healthy and my skin gorgeous, but I happen to be the happiest person I know!
Now, scientific studies are surfacing validating what I’ve intuitively known all along. Statin Nation not only opened my eyes to the reality of statins, but affirms my beliefs about the amazing power of intuition – our real connection to truth.
Before popping that pill, drinking that soda or eating anything questionable, do the heart test. Put your hand on your heart and ask, “If my higher self knew the truth about this pill, food or drink what would it tell me?” Listen. Feel for the answer. Your intuition knows all and will only guide you to your greatest good. Trust it.
Since we are all psychic, I am certain that you’ve had an intuitive knowing or two about something that was later proved to be true. Share your experiences below. Who knows? You just may help someone who needs it.
