We are all born psychic and we all have our own psychic strengths, whether it’s clairvoyance, (clear seeing) clairsentience (clear feeling), clairaudience (clear hearing) or claircognizance (clear knowing). Many people experience all four psychic senses; however, it is common that one sense is more dominant than the others.
Which is your strongest psychic sense?
Clairvoyance: Clear seeing. This is when psychic messages come through as visions or images on the screen of your mind. These images can be still or moving, occurring when your eyes are either opened or closed, while awake, daydreaming or asleep.
Clairsentience: Clear feeling. Many times people refer to having “gut” feelings, sensation in their spleens and even experience the physical pain of others. Clairsentients are very sensitive to other people’s energies and emotions. Psychic messages are felt in the body.
Clairaudience: Clear hearing. Messages are received through voices, music or other sounds in clairaudients. These sounds usually occur internally – in the mind, in the form of thoughts. For most clairaudients, messages come through to them in their own voices. At times, messages may be heard physically with the ears and originate from an external source.
Claircognizance: Clear knowing. This occurs when information, an idea, concept or thought comes to mind and has the feeling of importance. The knowledge received often flashes suddenly into mind seemingly out of nowhere. Knowing who is on the phone, for example, before answering it or knowing personal things about people you just meet is claircognizance.
Once you determine your strongest psychic sense, you can begin developing it… much more on that to come!
Watch for magic,
Being an entrepreneur is fun. Around every corner lies an opportunity to learn new lessons. By the time I die, I will be an entrepreneurial genius. Move over, Donald.
I bet this is something that all entrepreneurs can relate to: Recently, I’ve been offered deals that don’t come near what I expect to be paid for. These deals basically involve donating my time in hopes for a profitable return to be split amongst the heavy hitters, without the benefits of partnership. Essentially, I’ve been living in Low-Ball City, which is a stop-over to Destitution Valley.
My personality type dictates that I “keep it open at the top”, so I consider every offer from every angle. Afterall, I don’t want to be an uncompassionate, irrational bitch. It usually takes me a day to digest and then see the offer clearly. My usual response to people is “Let me sleep on this and I’ll get back with you tomorrow.” I usually have a clear head and solid response by morning.
When I’m all knotted up, I’ll call a “committee meeting.” I really should do this first, as it gives me the greatest clarity. My imagined meeting takes place at a big, round table seated by a few of my respected teachers, such as John Assaraf, Oprah, Donald Trump, Jesus, James Ray and Martha Stewart. The players change depending on the circumstances, but these are my main committee members.
I’ll throw out my issue and ask for their guidance. One by one, they tell me their opinions. Their voices and personalities are so strong and clear. I get an answer within five minutes. One of the new committee members is Lisa from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. In her introduction, she says, “If it doesn’t make me money, I don’t do it.” Her voice has been calling me to the “reality table” of taking care of my family.
My lesson here is obvious: I tend to be a people pleaser, putting their needs in front of mine. Whoever can relate to this, raise your hand!
Here’s what my committee is saying: James frequently tells me to “Get over it!” Dr Phil will say, “How’s that workin’ for you?” Martha tells me, “That’s just silly nonsense.” Oprah reminds me to “Take care of you first.” Jesus reminds me that fearful people operate from lack and greed… “bless them and move on.” Kevin Nealon, the dirty mechanic in “Joe Dirt” reminds me “This isn’t Unicef.”
I’ve decided to take some time to put a few policies in place, so that when I find myself nearing Low-Ball City, I can see it coming and make a right turn at “Charlene’s Worth Blvd” and avoid getting knotted up altogether.
I’m grateful for the lessons and the contrasts. I can now strongly proclaim, “I choose to work with people who honor my time and expertise and recognize the tremendous value that I bring to the table. I bring it to honor them.”
And the pendulum swings…
There is tremendous power in giving. Great world leaders, high achievers and extremely successful business people have always been the greatest givers. Napoleon Hill said, “I will induce others to serve me because of my willingness to serve others.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “One cannot sincerely help another without helping themselves.”
I am in constant awe of the Divine Universal Laws that play in the backgrounds of our lives. Even though these laws are always consistent, their beauty and magic continue to surprise me. The Law of Reciprocity is one such law.
When we give, we are opening a channel, creating a new energy that can be shared, forwarded, circulated and re-purposed over and over again. In giving, we are creating. And I believe our ultimate purpose for being is to create.
When I refer to giving, I’m not necessarily talking about money. I’m talking about giving of our time, attention, energy, assistance and kindness. All of these things are free and we have an unlimited supply of these things, so why not give them away? When you give, it is then that you receive and not sooner.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not advocating giving to get, but I will say that getting is impossible without first giving… it is Universal Law. I am advocating giving to give for the sheer joy it. In doing so, you’re creating positive energy on so many levels. On one level, your gift is helping the receiver, and on another level, you are raising your own vibration, which not only benefits you, but benefits everyone around you.
I’ve put this to the test. I love walking at my neighborhood park. There’s a running path around the perimeter of the park and it is usually populated with people morning, noon and night. I’m a friendly and outgoing person by nature and I smile at people as we cross paths. Not everybody smiles back, but most people do and when they do, I feel a surge of energy, and I am certain they do to. I would also venture to guess that they will have a smile to give to the next person they see.
Think about how good it feels when you receive something. Just yesterday I was shopping with my son for a memory card that holds music on a cell phone. While in the electronics department, we could not find one, so we asked one of the clerks. He couldn’t find what we were looking for, so he called over two other clerks. Together, these young men were determined to get us what we wanted. Their customer service was impeccable. Not only did I walk away with a memory card in hand, but even more importantly, I walked away feeling loved and honored that these young men were passionate about serving us. They didn’t get a bonus or reward for their outstanding efforts, but I could feel their joy and sense of satisfaction in a job well done.
To live an excellent life, we must be excellent givers. Giving truly makes the world go round. Look for an opportunity to give today and notice how good it makes you feel to give freely.
Life is meant to be fun and joyous! When we are in a higher vibration, things come more easily to us. Our spirits come alive, our minds open and our hearts become receptive. When we are in a higher vibration, our psychic senses come alive! This journey is all about tuning out from the noise of the world and tuning in to the beautiful sound of your inner voice – your Spirit. It has much to tell you.
Try any of these things to lift your Spirit:
- Nature: Go for a walk or hike. Nature is a quick fix. Feel the sun on your skin, smell the grass, observe the textures, listen to the different sounds.
- Beauty: I love good architecture. Driving through a historic district and looking at beautiful homes is a sure fire fix for me. Go to a gallery, your favorite antique store…any place visually stimulating.
- Media: Everybody loves music, reading a great book or watching a favorite movie. Media is a fabulous mind break and emotional connector. Indulge.
- Movement: Walk, wiggle, stretch, workout, ride your bike, dance, do yoga! Moving the body releases energy and keeps you young and supple.
- Food: Stimulate your taste buds with yummy, healthy goodness! An orange sounds great right now.
- Animals: What is it about looking into a dog’s eyes? Pets are excellent sources love, compassion and entertainment.
- Creativity: Getting lost in a creative project is directly connecting to your higher self and can be a blissfully imaginative experience. I love it when you finally realize the time and can’t believe how much of it has passed!
- Meditation: Some people sit quietly, pray, walk, sing… you decide the form. Quieting your mind is essential for psychic growth and overall peace.
- Giving: Being of service and giving of your time, money or energy feeds into the never ending flow of well being and comes right back to you in an overwhelming feeling of connection.
- Play! Get down on the floor and play Candyland with your little one or pick up her hoola-hoop and give it a spin. You’ll want your own! Hop on a swing, play tag, go across monkey bars (can you still do it?) Watch children and mimic them. They know how to play very well. Ask if you can play with them and I’ll bet they say, “Yes!”
The bottom line to raising your vibration, increasing your frequency, connecting with Spirit… is to FEEL GOOD! So, just do that and watch your life become magical.
I love what Sonia Choquette says about our planetary evolution. She says, “We are now going from homo sapiens to homo spiritus.” The evidence to support that statement is all around us. Have you seen the number of spiritual groups on Facebook, for example? Just five years ago, we were still fairly quiet about our new thoughts. Now, many people freely share and whole heartily accept the concept that we are indeed spiritual beings having this human experience.
Holding this notion is by far the surest path to psychic development. It is when we release our attachments to our social conditioning and concrete ideas about our physical relationship to the world that we begin to open our minds and hearts to the mystery and magic of our wondrous existence. And when we open ourselves up, we create space for new information – divine information that comes from our Higher Selves, Spirit Guides, Angels, Source.
I have a favorite saying that I tell myself when feeling stuck or stubborn about how a thing is “supposed” to be: “Keep it open at the top.” Whenever I hear the words “supposed to” or “should” I know that I’m being resistant, blocked and that my ego is rearing its self-righteous head. When I find myself in this mode, I know that I’ve been given an opportunity to learn something… to grow. We have a choice in this instant of self-awareness. We can be right and become victimized and angry or we can open up and learn something about ourselves.
Here’s a personal example that I’d like to share with you. Just recently, I was walking home from the grocery store with three heavy bags. I live at the top of a hill, so this trek can be quite a workout. As I’m headed up the sidewalk, two young men are headed down. They are engrossed in conversation and don’t seem to notice me at all. As we got nearer to one another, I realized that if one of us doesn’t move over, there is going to be a collision. At that moment, I thought to myself “they should move, since I’m a woman twice their age and I’m going uphill… that would be the polite thing to do. And I’m tired of always being the one who makes room, yielding to everyone else. I’m not budging.” You can guess what happened next. I pretended not to see them and I slammed right into one of the young men, almost dropping my groceries. Indignantly, I said to him, “Gee thanks!” His response was, “Don’t you think you should say excuse me? ” I was a full blown martyr at this point and said, “You guys are double-wide! You should have moved for me. You’re taking up the entire sidewalk!”
I held onto this one for about two weeks. As the scenario replayed in my mind, I knew there was a lesson to be learned, but for the life of me, I couldn’t see it. I made up my mind that these two young men were just plain rude. Then, just last night, I picked up one of my old favorite books, “You Can Heal Your Life,” by Louise Hay and turned right to the chapter “Resisting Change.” Louise poses the question, “Why do you continue to attract these situations to yourself?” I kept thinking about the sidewalk incident, and while reading my eyes stopped on one word: Invisible. A-ha! That’s it… one of my “lessons” in this life that continues to recur is that I feel angry and victimized when people do not acknowledge me. I have verbally referred to myself as the “6 foot invisible woman.” Another issue that came to surface is my attachment to the rules of politeness. Is it any wonder that I have attracted these situations to myself?
After a short discovery process, I realized that my invisibility issue stemmed from growing up in a chaotic household where everybody else’s drama trumped mine. I was the independent quiet one who observed the insanity around me and moved out of the way when necessary. I felt ignored, unimportant and unloved. I get it (insert heavenly music here)! Okay, so I still have some childhood conditioning to replace. Here is what I have replaced it with: I am wise in moving out of the way of collisions, chaos and drama. I am blessed with acute observation skills and I can see what is before me because I am present and grounded. I am like water: soft and flowing. Is it easy for me to move and adjust myself so that I stay in a flow of peace. Whether people acknowledge me or not has no effect on my self worth. I am compassionate and understanding that other people are occupied with their own thoughts and that everybody has their own definition for politeness. I forgive myself for being stubborn and righteous and am so grateful for this lesson! (And yes, I apologize to the man I slammed into.)
By keeping it open at the top, we receive exactly what we need to learn the lessons that we came here for. What recurring situations are showing up in your life? Believe me, they are here to serve you!
Have fun on your journey.

It’s official! I’m psychic. There, I said it. You know, the word “psychic” is so emotionally charged and has taken on quite a few unsavory meanings. We can thank both Hollywood and opportunistic shysters for that. However, the word “psychic” really means “pertaining to the soul or spirit”. I have grown to love the word… and moreover have grown to love my psychic-ness!
Truth be told, we are all psychic, or at least potentially psychic. What that means to me is that we are all born with an undeniable sixth sense – a sense beyond the basic five senses of sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing. This sixth sense is our psychic sense, our inner knowing, our connection to Spirit… also known as intuition. A psychic person uses their intuition just as much (if not more) than their other senses to receive and perceive messages. Being psychic simply means having highly refined observation and communication skills.
Sounds simple, right? It really is once you re-develop your intuition. I say re-develop because as small children our psychic awareness was in bloom, but unfortunately for the majority of the population, our social conditioning pretty much killed it. The good news is – it’s still there. All you have to do is wake it up and work it out!
Fortunately for me, I was raised by a very psychic man. My dad was able to see people’s auras and frequently entertained us with describing them – their colors and what they meant. He raised me to believe that I could be, do and have whatever I chose – always encouraging my inner strength, spirituality and independence. We were a Catholic family, surrounded by angels and saints and taught early on to communicate with our spirit guides and to trust in the spirit world. All of this has helped form my psychic foundation and it still serves me today, even though I am not a member of any religious group. My spirit is strong.
Through the years, I’ve had numerous psychic experiences and continue to experience them daily. These “knowings” have spared, saved and guided me away from things, circumstances and people that were not in my best interest and toward things, circumstance and people that are in my best interest and that are in alignment with my higher self. I live a life of freedom, fun and fearlessness. I have so much to be grateful for!
I’ve kept my spiritual/psychic life quiet and to myself, as it is very personal. However, as I continue to observe the confusion, sadness, pain, fear and powerlessness that so many people hold on to, I know that they would greatly benefit from what I know. They know what I know too, but they need people like me to remind them – to show them tools and exercises to build their intuitions back up. With a strong intuition comes confidence, guidance, knowing… peace.
So with that, I have indeed come out of the psychic closet! Welcome to my world. With my new-found public psychic life, I have fun and exciting plans to offer psychic development workshops and teleclasses, give readings for guidance and encouragement, and write about developing our super-powers, so that we all may live magical and purpose-filled lives!
I’ve been a teacher for years, as teaching is my life’s purpose. It’s funny looking back… while teaching high school literature, my main focus or reason for being there was always to empower my students to tap into their highest, strongest selves. Shakespeare was my vehicle to get them there… hey, whatever works!
For the last couple of years, I taught entrepreneurs how to brand and promote themselves. Same thing. Our classes primarily consisted of defining their strengths, developing their offerings and focusing on how to better the world with their inherent gifts and talents.
Essentially, I have been teaching psychic development through various subject matter. Well, now we can cut to the chase and work directly on strengthening our psychic sense! I hope you’ll join me on this great adventure!
Visit my website each week for a new “Psychic Building Video Tip” or to read my blog. I will be posting upcoming events, such as workshops and teleclasses in the coming weeks, as well. You can also opt-in my mailing list to be notified of these articles and events. You can find the opt-in box at the bottom, right hand side of the site.
Until we meet again, look for the magic everywhere. It’s there!
Giving Is The New Getting
Have you noticed that some of the most successful business people are also the most generous? Take Blake Mycoskie, Founder and Chief Shoe Giver of TOMS Shoes, Inc. You’ve seen him in Time Magazine, on The Amazing Race, AT& T commercials, and featured on TED. TOMS’ simple promise is to give a pair of new shoes to children in need around the world with every pair sold, revolutionizing the way consumers shop. Over 140,000 pairs of shoes have been given so far, and we are still counting.
What began more than 30 years ago as Tony Robbins’ individual effort to feed families in need, has now grown into the International Basket Brigade, providing baskets of food and household items for more than 2 million people annually in countries all over the world. Throughout the Thanksgiving and holiday season, International Basket Brigade volunteers deliver food, clothing, and hope to those who need it most.
These are only two examples of entrepreneurs who incorporate giving or applying the universal law of reciprocity into their business plans. There are many more. Tony says, “Everyone has the need to contribute. It is one of the six human needs. If you give from your heart, it will come back to you tenfold.”
My question to you is: What are you giving?
I agree with Tony in that we all have a need to contribute. I also believe that we have a social responsibility to contribute… a calling, if you will. We are all blessed with a certain DNA, choc full of inherent gifts that we alone are “supposed” to give away. I believe this with all my heart. The cool thing about giving, is that you get so much back in return in the way of spiritual fulfillment.
On a practical and financial level, you also win by giving! In business, when we give away our best information, people grow to know, like and trust us, and when they are ready to buy, they will buy from us. Internet marketing genius and all-around great guy, Frank Kern says, “Selling stuff is easy. All you gotta do is give away stuff that makes people happy …and then sell stuff that makes ‘em even happier.”
Bottom line is this: Business success begins with giving. Success in life begins with giving. I would urge you to take a look at your current business plan and see how you can implement giving in your daily business practice. It does not matter how big your contribution is. What matters is that you expand your mindset and your business plan to include giving in a way that helps another. When you do this, I can guarantee you that your bottom line will take care of itself.
Now, go buy a pair of TOMS shoes and put a new pair of shoes on a kid’s feet or make a contribution to Tony’s Foundation and feed a family. It’ll make you feel GOOD… pass it on.
Keeping the world a friendly place,
