Description: Each of your Chakras has its own unique “personality”, each influencing a specific aspect of your life. So if you’re experiencing any form of physical or mental shortcomings, limitations or challenges in your life, there’s a high chance one of your Chakras is blocked or unbalanced.

During this 3-hour workshop,  we will discuss the 7 main Chakras (our energy centers), what they are and how they influence our everyday lives. You will take a short quiz to help determine which of your Chakras may be out of balance (over-stimulated, under-stimuated, backed-up or even closed-off).

Next, we will perform exercises designed to open, vitalize and balance your chakras for your optimum health and well-being.

Finally, I will give you tips and exercises to keep your Chakras balanced, so that you can ground and balance yourself any time and any place.

Reiki: An Overview

Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is an ancient rediscovered natural healing technique involving the placement of hands onto the body in order to channel healing energy. It allows everyone (children too!) to tap into an unlimited supply of “life force energy” to improve health and enhance the quality of life.

Reiki is an amazingly simple technique to learn. It does not take years of practice, it is simply passed on through a series of attunements from a Reiki Master, sometimes called Teacher, to the student. As soon as this happens, one has and can do Reiki.

Reiki heals with the power of the universal life force. Each person is alive because this life force is already flowing through us. This life force flows within our physical body and it also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes all of the organs and cells of our bodies, supporting them in their vital functions.

This powerful life force is very responsive to thoughts and feelings. It can becomes disrupted when we accept negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves or others. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body, thereby creating dis-ease.

Reiki can heal this by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes much of the negative energy to break up and fall away. Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, allowing the life force to flow in a more healthy and natural way.

Once a person has been opened up to become a “channel” for Reiki, this powerful universal life force energy will flow through their hands of its own accord and they will retain this ability for the rest of their life. Reiki does not conflicts with medical procedures but rather supports and enhances all other medical treatments.

Because Reiki is guided by the God-consciousness, it can never do harm. It always knows what a person needs and will adjust itself to create the effect that is appropriate for them. Reiki goes where Reiki is most needed.

The 7 Chakras: An Overview

Psychic development begins with being a clear channel so that light and information can be sent and received easily, without restriction. The 7 Chakras are the energy centers in our body through which energy flows. Blocked energy in our 7 Chakras can often lead to illness, depression, discomfort, disease and psychic blockage or confusion, so it’s important to understand what each Chakra represents and what we can do to keep this energy flowing freely.

The Grounding Room

Zelda Fitzgerald

Back in my college days, as an English major, I adored the rogue American writers who exiled to Paris - Ralph Waldo Emerson, Mark Twain, Henry James, Gertrude Stein, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, E. E. Cummings and their many creative, freedom-loving friends. I especially loved F. Scott Fitzgerald. In fact, I dated a fellow English major and our nicknames among our hardly-ever-sober social crowd were F. Scott and Zelda – after  F. Scott Fitzgerald and his “crazy” wife.

It is believed that Zelda was Fitzgerald’s inspiration for my all time favorite literary heroine, Nicole Diver, of Tender Is The Night. In the story, Nicole and her husband Dick live a glamorously decadent lifestyle, wrought with fabulous dinner parties, many colorful players and ever-flowing alcohol. On occasion, Nicole would become emotionally overcome, mainly by anxiety, and would hide out in her bathroom, sometimes sobbing, other times thrashing about. I’d venture to guess that she even slept it off in there a few times.

I remember feeling really validated by Nicole’s bathroom behavior when I first read Tender Is The Night. Since childhood, retreating to the bathroom was my escape from the insanity around me. Over the years, I’ve spent hours locked away in various bathrooms melting down, calming down, crying, sobbing, temper-tantruming, contemplating and cursing the world. I would call this “Going Nicole.”

As I continue on my spiritual path, the drama has quieted, but I still need to retreat to the ladies room on a regular basis to ground myself. It’s the one quiet place where I can be still, tune everything out and take a few minutes to communicate with myself – my higher self – to check in, feel what’s rattled me, acknowledge it, receive the message it is offering me, give thanks, clear it, breathe and continue my day peacefully. I always take the time to ground myself, so that I don’t unravel later or contaminate others with my spun-out energy. Grounding, clearing, untangling… whatever you want to call it, is good for you and everybody around you! It is essential for living a psychic life.

I encourage everyone to have a Grounding Room and use it regularly, so that you don’t find yourself Going Nicole!
